Volume IV of Heaven's Door's Bootleg Series — the annual run of rare whiskeys co-created with Bob Dylan and named for his archival album collections — is an 11-year-old wheated bourbon, finished for almost a year in seasoned Islay Scotch casks and bottled at 111 proof.

The peat reads as a finish, not a takeover. Toasted marshmallow, sandalwood and marzipan on the nose, then campfire smoke, leather, pipe tobacco and cedar on the palate, with the wheat keeping everything soft underneath. A few drops of water open it up. The Whiskey Wash 9/10.

The handmade ceramic bottle carries Dylan's 2017 oil painting Lighthouse in Maine, from his Beaten Path series, and ships inside an individually numbered leather journal.
