Named after the deep red hue of the iron-rich sandstone soils at Schödl’s plot in the town of Blumenthal, ‘Rote Erte’ (literally, “red soil”) is a tart, bone dry Riesling that teeters between beautiful citrus fruit and textured savory notes. Berries undergo a few hours of skin contact to extract flavor before gentle pressing and fermentation in stainless steel; wine is aged on fine lees for ~3 months before bottling.
A perfect food wine.

'Gemischter Satz' is a traditional Viennese white blend made from up to 20 varieties of grapes planted in the same vineyard. Once available almost exclusively in the Austrian domestic market (usually at local pubs), this crowd-pleasing, affordable, and food-friendly category has been experiencing a renaissance as of late, and is popping up more and more in international markets.
