We were fortunate to grab these bottles from the Prudhon family, who have deep ties to the village of Saint Aubin - for a close study in the full range of terroir expression that can be achieved in a niche area, look no farther than this domaine. Both offerings here are rich and complex; "Les Perrieres" plot has intensely stony soil and is the more mineral of the two; "Sur Gamay" is distinct and deep, with a honeyed character that given a few years will be shining. Insane value.

A multi-dimensional, food-friendly dessert wine with beautiful texture, luscious tropical fruit, and an elegant mineral finish (thanks to the altitude terroir of Jurançon). Sweet, but not at all cloying. Drink now or hold for 5-6 years.

MED-FULL-BODIED, SEC/DRY, WEIGHT & TEXTURE, ELEGANT, FLORAL, MINERAL, OAK
WINEMAKING : Manually harvested in separate passes over the course of the dry Béarnaise harvest. The grapes are immediately pressed in a pneumatic press, avoiding skin contact. The Jurançon Sec takes up to 20 days to ferment to dryness. Aged in barrel for 10 months (5-10% new) before diatomaceous earth filtration and bottling.
