A very light and refreshing style of pinot from winemaker Michael Brajkovich, who was New Zealand’s first Master of Wine (MW). Fresh, light, and dry, with a vibrant edge and nice hint of chalky tannins — the palate is lightweight yet fruity with a lick of oak spice and angular acidity.

CALIFORNIA : CENTRAL VALLEY : CLARKSBURG
Grüner Veltliner, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris
MED-BODIED, STONE FRUIT, HONEYSUCKLE, SALINE, LIME, STONE, NEUTRAL OAK
Reminiscent of the centuries-old style of Austrian field blends called Gemischter Satz, ‘Delta’ is an unexpected delight — with stunningly bright fruit and a precise, salty minerality rarely seen in California whites. Fruit is sourced from a vineyard site next to the Sacramento River Delta (hence the name) with cool air and loamy soils; juice is fermented w/native yeasts & aged on the lees for 6 months before bottling. Unfined/unfiltered. Drink now but should “keep” well, too.

Grand Noir de la Calmette, Alicante Bouschet, Trincadeira, Castelão, Aragónez, Arinto, Fernão Pires
MED-BODIED, STRAWBERRY, BLACK CHERRY, ORANGE PEEL, LICORICE, EARTH, USED OAK
The complex, elegant, and even — dare we say it — Burgundian (??) wines of Vitor Claro and Rita Ferreira at Dominó Winery come from a small, old vine vineyard of co-planted varietals in the Portalegre district of Alentejo, which is known for its uniquely cool climate in an otherwise warm region. ‘Salão Frio’ is their first — and, to date, most important — wine. A true pleasure to drink, it pairs well with a remarkable range of flavors, and is blessedly only about 11% alcohol (because just one glass is certainly not enough).ECOLOGY: Sustainable

Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot
FULL-BODIED, BLACK PLUM, CHOCOLATE, CEDAR, COCOA, OAK
Open and accessible yet quite complex, ‘Route 29’ is brimming with all the best, most classic Napa Cab aromas (mint, cedar, blackberry) and flavors (black plum, chocolate, Italian herbs). Structurally, the acidity nicely balances a supple, rich mouthfeel, and natural grape and oak tannin prolong the satisfying finish.

This offering is crisp, mineral driven, and packed with acidity. Fresh tropical fruits and saline show on the nose and are enhanced on the palate.

CALIFORNIA : BALLARD CANYON
Sangiovese
MED-BODIED, TART POMEGRANATE, RED BERRY, LYCHEE, DARK PLUM, OAK
The name "Love You Bunches" is a cute and nerdy nod to the process of Carbonic Fermentation (in which whole, uncrushed bunches of grapes are left to ferment inside a sealed tank), used here by the winemakers to manipulate an uncommonly bright, fresh, and light profile for Sangiovese.
This is a fun and happy wine; drink it cold under a hot sun.

CALIFORNIA : SANTA BARBARA COUNTY
Pinot Noir
MED-BODIED, STRAWBERRY, BLACKBERRY, RASPBERRY, CHERRY ANISE, CLOVE, OAK
Listed on Robert Parker’s Best Wineries of the World in both 1989 & 1999, Au Bon Climate (which is owned by renowned winemaker Jim Clendenen) has achieved an almost mythic level of celebrity in the wine world … and rightly so, in our opinion! Food-friendly and age-worthy, the 2019 Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara County punches way above its price point with mouth filling intensity and suppleness. Still quite young, it should remain “fresh” for the next 6-7 years, but will become more complex & continue to improve with age.

Syrah
MED-BODIED, BLACK FRUIT, VIOLET, PEPPER, EARTH, GREEN OLIVE, NEUTRAL OAK
Elegant and savory, with rich dark fruit and very light tannins, this outstanding expression of California Syrah comes from the Kessler Haak Vineyard in the Santa Rita Hills AVA. Located just 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean, this exceptionally cool site benefits from Northwestern ocean breezes that chill the vines and extend their ripening window, as well as well-draining sandy loam soils that naturally limit yields. The result is ripe, well-concentrated grapes that require very little manipulation in the cellar to reach their full potential. Drink now or hold. 100% organically farmed.
