'Scielo' is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Rg|Mx (Rivero Gonzalez) Winery in the Parras Valley, a small wine region in the Sierra Madre Oriental mountains of central northern Mexico.
Rich and round, it leads with abundance of soft tannins, red/black fruit, and luxurious oak-derived notes (coffee, tobacco, chocolate) … but it's the surprisingly fresh acidity and unexpected eucalyptus and mint notes lingering on the finish that make this wine special.
PS: In case it sounds familiar, Rg|Mx is the grandfather winery to Rg|NY in the Northfork of Long Island!

Despite being relatively new to the scene, Claire Hill (who worked throughout Sonoma, the Santa Cruz Mountains, and with the legendary Éric Texier in the Rhône Valley before launching her own winery in 2016) has already proven herself an incredibly talented and thoughtful winemaker.
Her sleek, classically-styled Chardonnay shows richness with restraint, and comes from dry-farmed vines planted in 1945 (the second oldest Chardonnay plot in California!).
